McDonald’s asked Red Games to help reimagine their training in a way that simplifies complex skills and ensures learning sticks — without putting folks to sleep. We reinvented their Crew Trainer manager training module in twelve games, twelve videos and eleven pdfs, allowing crew members to choose the method of learning that’s right for them (watch, play, or read). I played writer, content lead, scriptwriter and Twine-branching-dialogue-builder on this massive project.
Scenario-Based Games: Situations are set-up in comic book style, and the player navigates how to handle the scenario through branching dialogue gameplay.
Mini-Games: At the end of each learning level, the player is a rewarded with a fun mini-game for a moment of levity that reinforces the learning.
Videos: We interviewed Crew Trainers from around the world to find out what it takes to be great at their job and then wove those interviews into entertaining videos (part live-action, part animation) that taught learners management skills like effective communication, providing feedback, and more.
Much of my work with McDonald’s is under NDA, so please reach out to view the case study or learn more about this project.
